Great all around supporting cast. Morgan Freeman is always a nice touch to any film. Helen Miran firing a Rambo sized gun is worth the admission alone. If you miss the classic Bruce Willis Action Comedies this one makes up for all the bad ones in recent years. But what really makes this film worth seeing in theatres with an audience is John Malkovich! John Malkovich steals the show with maybe the performance of his career. If Johnny Depp can get nominated for "Pirates" and Robert Downey Jr. can get nominated for "Tropic Thunder", then Malkovich should get nominated for this, seriously. Every time he came on screen the whole theatre would be dying with laughter.

Movies are expensive now and not all of them are worth seeing in theatre but this one is. It's not the best film ever made, the story could have been a little tighter, but I can promise you'll have a lot of fun and you will be laughing your ass off through most of it.

This movie is great. The jackass team re-unites for what seems to be the last one in the series. They are getting older, and after seeing this movie, I'm surprised they are still in somewhat good health. You will laugh, cringe, and stare in awe at the spectacle that is Jackass 3D.

Well first off, its exactly what you would expect. No story, just stunts and pranks, all in slow-motion 3D. There are some hilarious pranks and stunts (midget bar fight) and some disgusting ones (Poop Cocktail Supreme). Knoxville, Lacy, Bam, Wee-man, Steve-O, Pontius, Jonze and Dunn are all back and better than ever.

For those who are weary about seeing it in 2D or 3D, its kinda hit and miss. Some stunts are great for 3D (especially the conclusion and bee-ball tether ball) and others do nothing to aid it. If you were to see it 2D, then your not missing anything. If you see it in 3D, then the extra 5 bucks will be worth it.

I don't have many complaints about the movie. The slow-mo may have been used a little too often, there is a little too much male nudity in my opinion, and some stunts are just flat out gross (Poop Geysers).

Overall, this movie is great. Its appalling, its crude, its grotesque and most off all, it will have you peeing your pants.

The content here will serve to properly introduce you to one of the most impressive films of all of the 1990s, "American History X". You should learn a few different things about this film to fully appreciate it as it was meant to be appreciated, and most of this prevalent information will be contained within the upcoming paragraphs.

This movie was not based on real events, as some people seem to think that it was. Though, the course that the film takes might not be all that unlike what others might have experienced in their own lives. This is a reflection about how we can be led so strongly to believe something that we later cannot believe in anymore through the introduction of circumstances beyond our control.

The movie starts rolling by introducing you to Danny Vinyard, who is still in high school. After getting in some trouble over having written a history paper on a white supremacist, he is told to write a paper on his brother Derek. Derek is Danny's older brother and he is, for all intents and purposes, the main character of the piece.

Shortly there later, you learn about Derek's position in the community. He represents a very strong gang of white supremacists, and he is their fearless leader. This really takes root very early in Derek's life, when he sees his father attempting to put out a fire to save lives, and he is gunned down by a black drug dealer right in front of Derek. A man takes Derek under his wing, and guides him in the knowledge and path of white supremacy. So Derek formed his gang, and they were all too eager to be under his leadership.

You learn that Derek is in jail, and see a visual depiction of what landed him there. Some black people were attempting to break into his car, when he was alerted of it and he raced outside, gun drawn. He began firing at them all, killing one and wounding another. One managed to escape. The fate of the wounded would mark one of the most graphic scenes ever depicted on film, which was Derek forcing the man to put his teeth onto the street curb and Derek stomping on the back of his head.

Derek is forced to confront his hating ways in prison, when he realizes that he is the minority and there is no protection for him. He, through a lengthy series of circumstances, befriends a black man that he is on laundry duty with. Derek vows that he would do anything to take it all back and start over again far away from what he now represents. He learns that his younger brother is headed in the same direction, and he will not allow this to happen.

He is released and meets up with his girlfriend at a welcome home party. He asks her to move with her, but she refuses. He is also forced to face the man that taught him to be a white supremacist and tells him that this is no way to live. He and his brother leave, and Danny is able to finish the paper which you hear as the narration for the ending of the film.

The story ends with Danny being shot to death by a black kid in the bathroom at school. Powerful acting from Edward Norton (Derek Vinyard) and Edward Furlong (Danny Vinyard) bring this story to the screen and give it the perfect acting that such an impressive movie requires. American History X might be hard to watch at times, but it is a grand reflection on how people could be so confident in what they believe to be right.

Watching Raavan, similarly, is no laughing matter. Initially, you are dazzled by the amazing visuals, the haunting background score and characters that show promise. You wait expectantly for dream merchant Mani Ratnam to weave his magic.

But it never happens. You just sit there, bewildered, then disappointed, and then just waiting for it to end. After an interesting set-up, that of Beera (Abhishek) abducting Ragini (Aishwarya), the wife of police officer Dev Sharma (Vikram) and Dev's pursuit of the outlaw, the film deteriorates consistently in a manner you don't expect it to.

Okay, so the plot takes a leaf out of the Ramayana's most memorable chapter. Raavan abducted Sita, wife of Lord Rama, which resulted in a battle that ended with Rama vanquishing the ten-headed demon king.

Variety reports that Premium Rush will follow a New York bike messenger (Gordon-Levitt) who is pursued all over the city by a dirty cop after he retrieves a package from Columbia University. Ramirez is probably best known for her work in sci-fi roles like Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand and Maya in Heroes (as well as small parts in Buffy and 2005's Quarantine), but she's also no stranger to New York City-based film-making, with a starring role in the just-wrapped Brooklyn to Manhattan, which also involves plenty of running around New York City (this time in Brooklyn's subway tunnels). So I'll assume that she's in good enough shape to keep pace with messenger-boy Gordon-Levitt and his bicycle.

Production on Premium Rush is slated to begin this summer on location in New York City. Columbia Pictures will release the film, co-written by John Kamps, some time next year.

Despite largely negative reviews and complaints that its hastily-tacked-on 3D was headache-inducing, Clash of the Titans will be getting both a sequel and a new director. (This is what happens automatically nowadays when a film grosses almost half a billion dollars worldwide, as Clash did.) Since former director Louis Leterrier has said he has no interest in making a second film, Warner Bros. has compiled a shortlist of directors to take over the project, with Jonathan Liebesman reportedly emerging as the frontrunner.

Liebesman began his career as a horror director, with Darkness Falls in 2003 and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel in 2006, but has since expanded his repertoire to include action movies. While those aren't titles that necessarily inspire confidence, his latest project, the alien-invasion thriller Battle: Los Angeles is already getting a lot of positive buzz, and has been described as "like Independence Day and Black Hawk Down mixed." Anand (Akshay) is an irresponsible youth who always goes behind Anjali (Pragna). Anjali, on the other hand, is a smart and goal-oriented girl who wants to become a computer professional. On a fine day, Anjali looses 1.25 lakhs cash which was kept for her studies.

Disappointed, she decides to commit suicide and ends up in the hospital, but thankfully, a cop brings back her money. After five years, Anjali becomes a software professional and Anand has a job in a motor company and is still crazy about Anjali. Akash (Diganth) falls in love with Anjali and they both decide to get married.

The story take a twist at the marriage venue when the inspector reveals the sacrifice Anand made for Anjali. What happens next is the rest of the story.

Debutant Akshay has done a wonderful job, Pragna and Diganth have done their parts well too. Doddanna is fine, Ramakrishna is brilliant, Komal and Sharan have added charm. Director Mahesh Sukadhare's regular magic seems to be missing; certain scenes could have been trimmed to improve the pace of the movie. Debutant music director Manikanth Khadri has created pleasant melodies.

With a winning tested plot, Darshan is back with an action-packed entertainer. He steals the show and his charm is spread all through the movie. His characterization, though not unfamiliar to film-buffs, is made interesting by the director.

Puri Jagannath made Pokiri with Mahesh Babu in Telugu and the rest is history. The movie has been remade in Tamil as Pokkiri with Vijay and in Hindi as Wanted with Salman Khan. Interestingly, both the versions directed by Prabhu Deva were hugely successful at the box-office. Now it's the turn of M.D. Sridhar and Darshan.

Datthu (Darshan) is a hardcore criminal who will do anything for money. He meets Anjali (Pranitha) and love is the immediate reaction. A villainous cop attracted by Anjali threatens her mother and asks her to send Anjali with him. Datthu appears as her saviour and her family. Despite this hardcore criminal attitude of Datthu, Anjali cannot help falling head-over-heels in love with him. Datthu's boss, the international don Ashish Vidyarthi arrives from abroad and thereafter, the story takes an unexpected turn with twists, suspense and surprises, all neatly packaged and presented as an engrossing narrative.

Darshan carries the whole story on his shoulder; he is brilliant. Pranithi is impressive in her debut, a great way ahead for the actress. Shobaraj, Avinash, Ashis Vidyarthi, Sharan, Sadhu Kokila, Srujan Lokesh have done their parts well. V. Harikrishna's music is catchy and peppy. Cinematography by Krishnakumar is brilliant. But one man who stands out is M.D. Sridhar through his brilliant direction.

Overall a great entertaining film in Sandalwood, Porkhi is a complete entertainer.

After a series of remakes, actor Sudeep is back with an original script in Just Maath Maathalli. Apart from calling the shots, he has also acted in the film with Ramya playing the female lead. JMM has some brilliant direction, great acting, refreshing background score and top notch cinematography.

In Just Maath Maathalli, a major part of the film is narrated in flashbacks. The movie starts with Siddharth (Sudeep) narrating his story to Adi (Rajesh), a businessman in a Singapore flight. Both are flying there to find love. Sid aka Siddharth is a rock star who lives for the moment. He leads a carefree life until he is spotted by Tanu (Ramya), from the point of view of Tanu thinking he is on the verge of suicide. Later, Tanu and Siddharth miss their train and gets stranded at the railway station. They become good friends and in a short period, Tanu opens up her feeling to Sid, but to our surprise, he says a big NO.

Siddharth rejects the advances of Tanu because he has a painful past. In a flashback, we see Divya (Keerthi Gowda) who is madly in love with Siddharth commits suicide when her proposal is turned down by Siddarth. From then on he loses his faith in love. But then, he gets enlightenment from a friend and decides win Tanu's heart again. Here the flashback ends. When the flight lands in Singapore, Adi invite Siddharth to his marriage with Nandini. To his surprise, Siddharth finds that Tanu is none other than Nandini. Will he win her back forms the climax of the story.

Sudeep and Ramya have excelled in their acting skills. In spite of the alleged offscreen spat between Sudeep and Ramya, their on screen chemistry is fantastic. Agile Avinash, talkative Rajesh, silent Arun Sagar give admirable performances. Music by Raghu Dixit could have been better. On the whole, Just Maath Maathalli is pleasant to watch.

Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhan's 200th and last film Aptha Rakshaka is already storming the box office ever since its release on February 19. The film released in nearly 120 screens across Karnataka. The film has grossed nearly Rs. 5 crores in just four days of its release. The film is expected to gross more than Rs. 40 crores net in 100 days. If the run continues, Aptha Rakshaka will replace Mungaru Male, which was the highest grosser in Sandalwood so far.

Aptha Rakshaka, the sequel of Apthamitra (which was remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi with superstar Rajinikanth in the lead), is directed by P. Vasu and Gurukiran has scored the music. Coincidentally, Soundarya who starred in Apthamitra, passed away in a plane crash a few days before its release in 2004 and now, Vishnuvardhan passed away before the release of the sequel.

What is it about?

In Aptha Rakshaka, the director has retained only three characters from its original - the psychiatrist Vijay, Nagavalli and Ramachandra Acharya. However the storyline seems to be inspired from the original version.

The story begins with a painter's death, after a painting of Nagavalli is taken away. A family in Mysore headed by Shrinivasmurthy is disturbed by the painting, he contacts Ramachandra Acharya (Avinash) for help. The Acharya finds out that the root of the problem lies in the painting of Nagavalli bought by one of the three daughters in the family , Saraswathi (Lakshmi Gopalswamy). Acharya in turn approaches Captain Vijay (Vishnuvardhan), a psychiatrist, to solve the problem. How he unveils the mystery forms the rest of the story.

Crazy Kutumba has a simple yet brilliant plot. The movie narrates the travails, trauma and humiliation a middle-class family from a backward region faces in the fast metro Bangalore (now Bengaluru).

Story: The plot is about a dysfunctional family from a small village Balekundri in Belgaum district whivh travels all the way to Bangalore to participate in a reality show. The family is headed by an alcoholic Mallappagowda Patil (Anant Nag), his son Shankaragowda Patil (Ramesh), an inventive car mechanic, his wife Sumathi (Sanathini), Gowri (Dhanya) his nubile daughter, brother Bhimya (Veera Shankar) and brother-in-law Devaraj (Rajanikanth), a smooth-talking thief. So when Gowri gets selected for a reality show in the city, the entire family comes to Bangalore.

The rest of the story narrates the different obstacles and happenings in this long journey. Will the daughter win the reality show? Watch out in the movie!

The film has a lot of comedy that provides hearty laughs. The use of the north Karnataka accent in the film is perfect. And all the characters in the film are natural and don't go overboard with their comedy or emotions.

Crazy Kutumba is the remake of De Dhakka (Marathi), which was again an adaptation of the Hollywood flick Little Miss Sunshine. Director Rama Murthy has handled the climax very well and has brought in the local flavour in a manner that is quite appealing.

Ramesh Arvind is brilliant as a poor, struggling mechanic while veteran actor Anant Nag is perfect for the role of a drunkard father. Comedians Umesh and Karibasavayya, newcomers Sanathini, Natana Rajanikanth, actors Veera Shankar, Vijayakumar and child artist Dhanya have played their parts very well. Ricky Kej's music is good and classical.

On the whole, Crazy Kutumba is a wholesome family entertainer.

Master Jagannath (Dr. Vishnuvaradhan) is a school teacher who has mastery over many things that are high in human values, especially the kalaripayattu. His wife Sneha (Suhasini Mani Ratnam) works in a child care home. The couple has a daughter Megnana. The henchmen of Pappu (Mukesh Rishi), an underworld don, kidnap Megnana, thinking she Adithi, the Home Minister's (Avinash) daughter. The kidnappers ask for Pappu to be released in exchange for Meghana. The Home Minister's efforts to release Pappu go in vain and the goons kill the child. Master Jagannath does not reveal the death of his child to his wife. Being an expert in kalaripayattu, he uses his martial art to kill the don, an upright cop Prathap (Devaraj) and five of his aides as revenge, without leaving any trace. So will he be caught? Watch the film to find out!

Kannada icon Dr. Vishnuvaradhan has shown a very brilliant performance throughout the film. A few dialogues and emotional scenes make it hard to believe that he is no more. His acting is tremendous; the film also has a message to students, urging them not to take the step that Master has taken.

Suhasini Mani Ratnam once again comes close to the heart. Devaraj as a cop draws good attention. Avinash, Thara, Chitra Shenoy and C.R. Manohar have done their parts well. V. Sridhar's music is lovely and director Dinesh Baboo has handled the cinematography which is fresh and colourful.

Mukhaputa (The cover page) is Roopa Iyer's directorial debut and she also plays an important role in this issue-based film which has been screened at many international film festivals and won the best film trophy at the Ireland film festival and South Africa in addition to the Silver Sierra Best Feature Film in California International Film Festival.

A lot of research has done on the subject while writing the script and the hard work is seen on the screen. HIV-afflicted children are also entitled to a good life - this forms the main message of the film.

Gowri (Roopa Iyer), a Ph.D student, meets Bhavathi (Baby Saniya) who comes to learn traditional dance. Gowri becomes very close to Bhavathi and gives her all her attention. Suddenly, Bhavathi's parents commit suicide. Gowri is shattered and decides to take a drastic step in her life by adopting the child against the wishes of her fiancé and family members. After a few years, Gowri finds that Bhavathi is HIV positive. She doesn't give up but continues to fight for Bhavati. But society ill-treats the child. The doctors also hesitate to treat the child and she is also ostracized in school. Finally, Gowri decides to give Veda training to the child. What follows is a well-narrated depiction of how Gowri fights against all odds, society and family.

Roopa Iyer has given a brilliant performance as Gowri. Apart from a few lengthy and repetitive dialogues, everything in the film is perfectly placed. However, the show-stealer is Baby Saniya for her realistic and brilliant performance. A really touching climax and some feel-good tunes complement the script. But at many places, the film become preachy due to long lectures.

But overall, the debutante has made a bold move by making such an extraordinary effort in her first film. Not many in our commercially oriented film industry would choose to make movies on issues that actually need to be addressed. A must-watch film!

He hails from an ordinary family and follows the guidelines of his father in giving good administration. Meanwhile, Prithvi locks horns with some filthy rich mining lords who do not like what he does. When the powerful MP and Home Minister come in his way, Prithvi is not ready to bow to any corruption. Since this is a realistic film, there are digs taken at the current day political and social scenario in the state. How he destroys the antisocial elements and solves these issues form the rest of the story!

Puneeth plays the role of a strict IAS officer with ease. It's a pleasure watching him in the role of a young, idealistic government servant. As Prithvi's partner, Parvathi has very limited scenes, yet she fits the bill perfectly. John Kokkin plays a prominent role in the film with ease. Director Jacob Verghese's gripping screenplay and Manikanth Khadri's pleasant music make the story more interesting.

There was much excitement surrounding the release of Naanu Nanna Kanasu, which is Prakashraj's first Kannada directorial venture. Naanu Nanna Kanasu literally translates to 'Me and My Dream'; in the film, Kanasu is his daughter's name.

The movie is said to be a remake of director Radha Mohan's Tamil movie Abhiyum Naanum (based on the English film Father of the Bride), which was produced by Prakashraj. It was remade in Telugu as Akasamantha. Prakashraj has adapted it to suit the taste of Kannada audiences very well and thus brought fresh life into Kannada films.

This is a typical Vijayakanth formula film. The honest police officer forced to contend with the worst villains. Furious fights, suitable sentimental touches and glamour topped by a gripping climax. The director has criticized caste politics vehemently. This is especially meaningful considering the present political scenario in the state. The hero, however, comes across as a preacher or orator rather than a police officer. The only respite in a film which seems like a political documentary is Ramya's explosive glamour. Though this is the usual formula film , Vijayakanth has worked on his acting and stunts.

The lengthy dialogues suggest that Vijayakanth's immediate goal might be entering politics. Karthik Raja's music is rather ordinary. In a nutshell, this is yet another Vijayakanth starrer which could well improve the bank balance of the distributors.

The fledgling director is in his element when handling love scenes also but seems a trifle confused deciding whether this is an action flick or romantic film! Ultimately, though, the stunt master triumphs.

Popular Malayalam film actor Suresh Gopi's spontaneous acting is an asset to this film. Laila doles out glamour and acting in equally large doses (surprise!) but Nagma steals the show from right under her nose by sizzling in her guest appearance in the song, 'Vathi kuchhi'. This is the name of the film I am intending to make as my next after India 24/7.
It’s inspired by the story of Paritala Ravi from Andhra Pradesh who got assassinated in January 2005. Even though the actual incidents of the story happened and the related characters existed in south India, I decided to make it in Hindi because I strongly felt that the sheer uniqueness of the story deserves to be told to a much wider audience.

Paritala Ravi was arguably the most feared individual ever in the history of the blood-ridden faction politics of South India. He was a prime accused in innumerable murder cases and also survived numerous assassination attempts, the most brutal of which happened on a quiet Friday afternoon in November 1997 when a road near Rama Naidu Studio in Hyderabad was turned into a death field by a bomb which killed 26 people but failed to get its intended target Ravi.

I, in the course of my life have read biographies of various people and have also come to know through various sources the life stories of many highly dangerous men including that of Velupalli Prabhakaran the LTTE Chief to Pablo Escobar the Columbian drug lord to our very own Dawood Ibrahim but all those stories pale in comparison to Ravi’s life story.

“HELP” is a supernatural horror thriller which draws upon the story of a malevolent spirit that refuses to leave the human world and is out to exact retribution for past crimes committed against it.

Protagonist Vic (Bobby Deol) is a successful horror film director in Bollywood and is married to Pia (Mugdha Godse). Pia and Vic are going through a difficult time in their marriage and in the midst of these troubled times they have to suddenly rush to Mauritius to take care of Pia’s ailing father. On landing in Mauritius and going back to Pia’s old family home Pia is confronted by her distant past which she has not had to face since she left Mauritius as a young 5 year old.

Little do they know that there’s something in this house. Something ancient and dark that remains hidden and silent. It can only wait, having been concealed in the shadows for years, poised to strike again. When Pia finds out that she is pregnant this darkly vicious spirit possesses Pia and starts to brutally kill the people close to her.
