Zac Efron's getting as far away from his High School Musical persona as possible with a starring role in Snabba Cash, a crime thriller set up at Warner Bros Pictures after an intense bidding war between the major studios. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of Efron's involvement, with the actor also getting busy behind the scenes in a producer capacity.
Snabba Cash is based on the 2006 book by Swedish criminal defense lawyer/writer Jens Lapidus. Lapidus' book has already provided fodder for one feature film, a Swedish production that hit theaters there earlier this year.
