Subhash Ghai proud of Indian presence at Cannes/Raavan/Kites/Abhishek Bachchan/Vikram/Aishwarya Rai

In a recent email from Cannes to Meghna-Ghai Puri, President of Whistling Woods International (WWI), her father Subhash Ghai proudly wrote, "There has not been a single instance when I am introduced as 'a filmmaker from Bollywood' to any international delegate, but in fact, always as 'an educationist and Founder of WWI Film and Media school' ... considered here as one of the three best in the world. And then after a brief pause, they do re-introduce me as one of the renowned filmmakers from Bollywood. Strange, ...but it's a moment of pride!!!"

All last week, Subhash Ghai has been writing a column on a daily basis for a leading newspaper about his exciting experiences at the Cannes Festival. He has also expressed his views on Indian cinema today and his deep sense of concern over the fact that in the last 30 years, no film from India has been able to participate in the Competition Section at Cannes.
