Naanu Nanna Kanasu - Movie Review/Prakash Raj,Seethara,Amoolya,Ramesh Aravind

There was much excitement surrounding the release of Naanu Nanna Kanasu, which is Prakashraj's first Kannada directorial venture. (Originally named Prakash Rai, he is more popularly known as Prakashraj.) It is truly a dream come true for Prakash and his fans. Naanu Nanna Kanasu literally translates to 'Me and My Dream'; in the film, Kanasu is his daughter's name.

The movie is said to be a remake of director Radha Mohan's Tamil movie Abhiyum Naanum (based on the English film Father of the Bride), which was produced by Prakashraj. It was remade in Telugu as Akasamantha. Prakashraj has adapted it to suit the taste of Kannada audiences very well and thus brought fresh life into Kannada films.

There have been umpteen films brought out with the same theme. Many still remember Shivaji Ganesan's Anbula Appa. Naanu Nanna Kanasu is also about the close relationship between a father and his daughter. Dealing with family values and with a strong message to the ailing society of today, it also includes all the elements a commercial cinema requires (like love, sentiment and action). Prakashraj has written the dialogues so beautifully that all audiences remain mesmerized in their seats, appreciating every frame.

The film begins with Uthappa (Prakashraj) meeting a young father Jayanth (Ramesh Aravind) on his morning walk. Uthappa begins to tell his experience in bringing up his daughter Kanasu (Amoolya). Flashback mode begins.
