Tom Dey (Shanghai Noon, Failure to Launch) reunites with Owen Wilson for the family comedy Marmaduke based on the long-running comic strip. Brad Anderson's comic appeared in 600 newspapers and featured the antics of a Great Dane named Marmaduke who always seemed to be getting into trouble. Bringing the classic comic to the big screen meant finding just the right dog to take on the lead character. 160 pound Great Dane George and his brother, Spirit, fit the bill, with George tackling most of the 'face' work and the surfing.
On the red carpet at the Marmaduke Beach Party, Dey explained how he handled his canine stars and George's trainer, Tasha Zemsky, discussed how she taught George to become Marmaduke:
