Sony Pictures’ romantic comedy The Bounty Hunter, which was released on April 23, has collected nearly Rs. 1 crore in its opening weekend in India, making it the best performing comedy of the year. It is noteworthy that the film grossed this amount in the midst of stiff competition from the IPL cricket tournament’s final phase.
"The film benefited from the great chemistry between the lead actors, the unusual plotline, and the extraordinary buzz around the film. We are really proud of its amazing success, especially as it released during IPL cricket fever. Monday collections continue to be very strong," Kercy Daruwala, Managing Director of Sony Pictures India, said.
Presented by Columbia Pictures in association with Relativity Media, The Bounty Hunter stars Jennifer Aniston, Gerard Butler and Christine Baranski. It was directed by Andy Tennant and produced by Neal H. Moritz.
