All good things must come to an end, but that doesn't mean that it has to be the end. After years as a villain on ABC's beloved-but-recently-canceled Ugly Betty, Vanessa Williams will join the women of Wisteria Lane on the network's beloved-but-not-yet-canceled Desperate Housewives.
There aren't many details regarding her relationship with the other ladies or her character's backstory, but Deadline notes that she'll play "a housewife who’s sure to shake things up in the neighborhood." Thanks, guys - I kinda figured that.
Williams earned an Emmy nomination for her role as the villainous Wilhelmina Slater on Betty - and deservedly so. A multi-talented performer who has appeared in films (Eraser, Soul Food) and on stage (Sondheim on Sondheim), she is a perfect addition to a cast chock full of foxy forty-somethings. And the legs keep on coming!
